Young Scientists At Work:What could this be?

Today,Yu Xuan brought a dead leaf with some queer-looking substances found at the underside of the leaf. What could this be? Could this be the eggs of an insect?

Are you able to crack the mystery here?

If you find something interesting around you which piques your interest, do bring it to class to share your findings with your classmates! It's a great way of learning together as a class.

Let's thank Harini for bringing a glass pyramid to class so that we can observe how a pyramid looks like and thank Yu Xuan for putting the effort to prepare an interesting specimen from the nature for us to explore. I yearning to see more of such interesting findings from you!

    1. My father told me that it could be something like a seed.He said that a new plant could grow from it.

    3. I agree. Like a few weeks ago, Ms Dee said that it only grow on buds . But I think Zin and Eaint Phyu is right.

    4. Hi Anan, it did look like seeds but these so-called "seeds" are the "seeds" of parasites - the formation of a parasites. Like what Bernice mentioned, there are unlikely to be the seeds of a plant since the leave itself is detached from the plant and the leaf itself is dead. Once the leaf is dead, there are no nutrients available for any growth of plant. But Anan, good effort for sharing with your classmates after discussion with your parents. Continue to keep up with your curiosity in Science! Good work!

    1. Germs are microscopic in nature and they are difficult to see with our naked eyes unless we place them under a microscope.

You are right Miss Dee! Germs might be on our hands so we must wash our hands first before we eat anything with our hands. So be hygenic! =) >_<
